While
many psychologists limit therapy to only one therapeutic framework, I
combine several therapies. Not all clients benefit from the same
approach. Thus, while cognitive-behavioral psychology acts as my
foundation, I also use family-systems therapy as well as teach emotional
and behavioral-management techniques (eg, meditation, self-hypnosis,
parts-work). Clients also state they gain benefit from my focus on
cultural psychology and spirituality as a means of expanding awareness,
flexibility and choice. Overall, I tailor my approach to the needs of
the individual. It is a short-term process that helps you overcome
personal and social obstacles and initiate change.
